A Little Summer Doodle...

For Summer, I've set myself the task of creating one finished drawing per day. That drawing could be a little fashion illustration, or a photoshop painting, or whatever, but it's got to be done by the end of the day. Right now I'm on the print-illustration kick, so I can build my website up for potential commissions, and send my mailers out. I want to fiddle and experiment with these, and find what works, and what looks good. The nice thing is that pretty much all of them have the potential to be finished products so long as the initial drawing was a good one. I can add and remove elements in The 'Shop as I please, and make a nice little drawing. So here's yesterday and today's illustrations. --Lauren

New Website!

Hey everyone! Upon graduation from college, I have put up an official portfolio website, which'll hopefully aid me in getting a job. It's still a work in progress, so bear with the lack of headers, etc.

S'More...

So I'm starting to put together a little portfolio for fashion illustration. I don't want to totally rip off Marguerite Sauvage, but I think her stuff is great, and I want to learn from it. The color image here uses a lot of her tricks, and maybe it's too close to her work...? Gotta start somewhere, though...

Those End-of-the-Semester Tidbits

So I did a a showcase piece of all my Puppet Master characters (cart included), and am quite happy with it.
Also, here's a work-in-progress of an old Ghosthunters piece (I lost my wacom stylus, so, alas, it is STILL only a work-in-progress). I have not yet adjusted the lighting or done much shadow or reflected light. I am getting a new, GIANT wacom (courtesy of my wonderful brother) very soon, so I will attack this piece with tenacity...I'm tired of it not being done!
Also, I've done a few character/costume sketches for my old friend Matt Highison (Art Institute International, SF), for "Lilith." Just a few things to tide you over...
